The Video Insiders

Punch up the audio to make your video pop!

Episode Summary

As an audio show about video technology, we decided it was time to do an entire episode dedicated to audio technology and why sound matters. It's no secret that audio makes video work. Without incredible sound, the video encodes that we produce will not be compelling, no matter how amazing. In this interview, Manuel Briand, Principal Systems Architect at AT&T, explains the codecs and technology behind audio for video. We tackle audio streaming, new formats, and why making audio that is effortless, immersive, and consistent is critical to the success of AT&T video services, including DirecTV.
